Ember Joins the Fight!! Version 0.4.0 is Live!
A new challenger has crash-landed...
EMBER from Hyper Team Recon joins the fight!
As Duels of Fortune's second guest fighter, she uses her slimy nature and shapeshifting abilities to create her own extremely unique fighting style! Slip, slide, and teleport around the stage, and use Ember's signature Spin Attack to take the opponent's form and copy their moves! With her special copying gimmick, movement-focused playstyle, and lots of built-in synergy between attacks, there's no shortage of fun to be had with this brand-new fighter!
Additionally, Ember comes with two costumes of her own, new Hyper Team Recon-themed costumes for Annie and Black Heart, new Missions, and a brand-new stage, the Iced Caps, featuring its own unique hazard and music track!
Hyper Team Recon is not fully released yet, but a demo of the game is available to try for free via the Paper Power Demo Disc Vol. 1, and an updated demo will soon be available on Steam! Go try it out!
Ember was a ton of fun to make, so we hope you enjoy playing as her just as much as we enjoyed working on her!

Mission Mode | Change | Changed the grid positions of the Missions “A Tough Pill to Swallow”, “The Best Defense”, and “Exploding Judo Federation”. This makes it so there are now exactly 3 Boss Missions per 5x5 square |

Training Mode | Addition | Added an additional button to the Training Mode pause menu, which gives you a character-specific setting. Currently this is used only to select which copy ability Ember can obtain, but functionality for other characters will be added in future updates |

Black Heart (Boss Mode enabled) | Additions | Due to the new Mission, Black Heart now has some special changes when Boss Mode is enabled: - Crouching Medium now tracks the opponent’s position up to fullscreen - Gelatinous Shadow (Neutral Special) and Negative Fire (Jumping Special) now grant Black Heart meter even on whiff - Negative Fire projectiles now home in on the opponent's position - Heart Breaker (Down Super) no longer stops if Black Heart is hit - Black Heart no longer goes into a vulnerable state after whiffing Violent Kicks, Negative Fire, or Love Bomb |
