Improved Controller Support! Version 0.2.0 is now Live!

Real duelists use a controller... and now, being a real duelist is easier than ever!

This update, we've completely overhauled the game's control system using the Rewired plugin. D-input controllers are now recognized and fully supported! Control rebinding is easier, more robust, and — by popular demand — can now be done directly from the character select screen! And to top it all off, this new system has made the game feel overall just a bit smoother to play. Wanted to try out Duels of Fortune,  but were stopped by issues with your controller not working properly? Then this update might just be the opportunity you've been waiting for!

With the game's biggest (solvable) issue now addressed, we'll be going all-in on expanding the roster with new characters from here onward... and with any luck, finally starting work on the long-awaited STORY MODE!! We're so excited to show you what we've got cooking for 2023, and we hope you'll enjoy experiencing the new characters and content as they release, especially now that playing with others just became much easier!

With that, here are the full patch notes for this update:

ControlsMajor ChangeUpdated the control system to use Rewired! A much wider variety of controllers are now fully supported without the need for external tools!
(NOTE: There is a known, unavoidable issue involving some controllers not functioning as intended while Steam is open. We have namely observed this problem with the DualShock 4, but it may affect other controllers as well. This will hopefully be fixed with our planned Steam release in the near future. In the meantime, make sure Steam is fully closed before running the game to prevent this issue!)
Control Settings (Rebinding)Major ChangeControl rebinding has been reworked and improved. The profile system has been removed, but now both players are able to rebind controls simultaneously! You can also now pull up the control rebinding menu directly from the Character Select Screen!
CrumpleBug FixFixed an issue where hitting an airborne opponent with a move that causes crumple would not update the opponent's hit state
MiscellaneousAdditionButton glyphs for PlayStation and Nintendo Switch controllers will now appear when using those controllers!
(NOTE: Third-party controllers will likely not be recognized as their first-party counterparts. In this case, the button glyphs will default to the standard Xbox glyphs)
MiscellaneousChangeEdited the poster that appears on game startup, as D-Input controllers are now fully supported!

Character Select ScreenAdditionOn the character select screen, controllers can now be manually assigned to the desired player through a special pop-up screen. This screen will appear whenever a new controller is assigned (or by pressing the ESC key while in the rebinding menu), and can be manually closed by pressing Start. Any player not assigned a controller will be controlled using keyboard
Stage Select ScreenAdditionAdded a small animation to the stage select to help make it easier to navigate
Stage Select ScreenChangeSlightly altered the visuals of the music selector
Lore JournalBug FixPotentially fixed an issue where backing out of a lore entry could cause the player to become stuck on the lore screen

Office BlockBug FixFixed an issue where it was possible to stand on top of the breakable glass with hazards on
Unknown PlaneBug FixFixed an issue where the walls could start closing in while intro animations were still playing

Training ModeBug FixFixed an issue where the training dummy would always use Button Block, even if Player 2 controls were set to Back-to-Block
Mission ModeAdditionAdded 3 new Missions:
- All the King's (Stick)Men
- Are You All Left?
- BOSS MISSION: Shady Business
Mission ModeAdditionMissions that require you to defeat a certain number of enemies will now display the number of enemies remaining at the bottom of the screen
Mission ModeAdditionSome Missions, including all Boss Missions, will now play intro animations at the start of the fight
Mission ModeFixFixed an oversight in the Mission "Poker Face" where defeating the opponent with Sylvan's fully-powered All In Super move would not count as a victory

Skeleton CostumeBug FixFixed an issue where the costume's arms floated above the main body

CPUBug FixFixed an issue where a Rattlebone CPU could not perform the Kingbone Slicer follow-up attack for Shield Bash

Bruiser Beatdown (Neutral Special)Bug FixFixed a minor animation error in which Red’s beam would be slightly larger than normal after whiffing a Rage-enhanced Bruiser Beatdown

Brightstar Bomber (Neutral Special)BuffNow causes a Hard Knockdown
(This is to help give the move a unique purpose compared to Grand Brightstar Bomber. While it remains the slower, weaker attack overall, it allows Baron to better keep up his advantage)
Grand Brightstar Bomber (Half-Circle-Back Special)BuffHitbox has been extended slightly downward
(There were some cases in which this move would whiff on opponents who were crouching or using certain hurtbox-reducing attacks, so this should fix that. Note that this change does NOT mean that GBB can now grab opponents out of a knockdown state)
Star Breaker Slam (Neutral Super)BuffNow causes a Hard Knockdown
(Some players found this Super not worth using as it made Baron lose any advantage he may have had. This change should help mitigate that)

CPUBug FixFixed an issue where a Shiverskull CPU could not perform the Sword Spear follow-up attack for More Swords

CPUBug FixFixed an issue where a Black Heart CPU could not perform the Love Bomb follow-up attack for ‘Til Death Do Us Part

NEW COSTUME!!!Added new alternate costume: Knight Doodle
(To unlock: Beat the Mission "All the King's (Stick)Men")
